Job summary

Dexterra Group in Canada is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning and related services in an assigned area within the budget to meet company and customer quality standards.

Reporting to the Manager, you will assign daily tasks, inspect performance, train new staff, and ensure Health & Safety procedures and PPE are available and properly used. You will also manage timekeeping, respond to customer requests, control inventory, and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' cleaning and supervisory experience in a large facility.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Experience in a unionized environment and knowledge of Collective Agreements.
• Flexible start and end times; weekend and statutory holiday work required.
• A clear criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with controlling budgeted hours for the assigned location.
• Assigns daily tasks and responsibilities to employees.
• Inspects the work on an ongoing basis to ensure performance is at the expected levels.
• Assists with site training of new cleaning personnel
• Trains and implements Health & Safety procedures and ensures that safety devices and PPE are available and properly utilized.
• Maintains time keeping records for cleaning personnel.
• Respond to customer requests and ensure follow up.
• Responsible for inventory control.
• Supervising Strip and wax crew experience preferred
• Must be able to obtain a reliability security clearance.
• Knowledge of our preferred vendors considered an asset (Ecolab, Tennant, Globe etc.).
