Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to oversee cleaning and services within budget and to maintain quality standards. You will supervise staff, assign tasks, ensure safety procedures, and coordinate with vendors to deliver exceptional facility cleaning services.

The role requires at least 2 years of supervisory cleaning experience, ability to manage multiple priorities, and flexibility for non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' cleaning and supervisory experience in a large facility.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in a unionized environment with Collective Agreement guidelines.
• Flexible start/end times; weekend and statutory holiday work required.
• Clear criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Control budgeted hours for the assigned location.
• Assign daily tasks to employees.
• Inspect ongoing performance to meet standards.
• Site training of new cleaning personnel.
• Train and implement Health & Safety procedures; ensure PPE is available.
• Maintain time keeping records.
• Respond to customer requests and follow up.
• Inventory control.
• Supervise strip and wax crew; experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a reliability security clearance.
• Knowledge of preferred vendors (Ecolab, Tennant, Globe) is an asset.

As a Cleaning Supervisor, reporting to the Manager, you will supervise the cleaning and services of an assigned area within the budget required to maintain company and customer quality standards.

Your Work Will Include

• Assists with controlling budgeted hours for the assigned location.
• Assigns daily tasks and responsibilities to employees.
• Inspects the work on an ongoing basis to ensure performance is at the expected levels.
• Assists with site training of new cleaning personnel
• Trains and implements Health & Safety procedures and ensures that safety devices and PPE are available and properly utilized.
• Maintains time keeping records for cleaning personnel.
• Respond to customer requests and ensure follow up.
• Responsible for inventory control .
• Supervising Strip and wax crew experience preferred
• Must be able to obtain a reliability security clearance.
• Knowledge of our preferred vendors considered an asset (Ecolab, Tennant , Globe etc. )
