Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a motivated Cleaner/Housekeeper to join our team. You will ensure a sanitary environment, manage cleaning tools, and support day-to-day operations.

The role requires ability to pass reliability clearance and work independently or with a team across offices and common areas. We value attention to detail, safety, and a strong work ethic as you perform floor care, dusting, waste removal, and high-touch sanitization.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial or industrial cleaning preferred.
• WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain (training can be provided).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Clear criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of all assigned areas, including floors, washrooms, and common spaces, offices and entrances
• Maintaining the floors; vacuuming carpets and dry/wet mopping floors
• Dusting all visible surfaces within reach which includes counter tops, pillars, lighting fixtures, window ledges and vents
• Wipes and polishes office furniture and glass windows
• Spot cleaning walls, partitions, light switches and doors
• Operate various cleaning equipment and machines efficiently and safely
• Maintain and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom essentials
• Empty and clean wastebins, ensuring proper waste disposal
• Sanitize high-touch areas to maintain a hygienic environment
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor
• Adhere to all safety protocols and cleaning standards

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Proficiency in operating cleaning equipment and machines (e.g., auto scrubber, swing machine, burnisher) is an asset
• WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain (training can be provided)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical stamina to lift up to 25lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods (8 hours per shift)
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Clear criminal background check required
