Job summary

BEST is seeking a custodian to keep our Edmonton building clean and inviting. Overnight shifts run from 11pm to 6:45am, with around 1–3 shifts per week. You will clean common areas, washrooms, mop floors, wipe surfaces, and handle exterior cleaning such as snow removal.

The role offers a supportive team culture, on‑the‑job training, and opportunities for advancement with pay above the provincial minimum wage.

Qualifications

• Pass Canadian background check.
• Prior cleaning experience preferred.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work overnight.

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms and washrooms and maintain surfaces.
• Perform snow removal and exterior cleaning.
• Ensure areas are presentable and safe for guests.

Job Overview

You will be responsible for ensuring your building looks clean, presentable, and inviting. Some of the duties and responsibilities include maintaining common areas, and washrooms, mopping, sweeping, and wiping down the glass and other surfaces along with exterior cleaning duties such as snow removal.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cleaning a variety of rooms, areas, and washrooms utilizing BEST - For A Cleaner World training and procedures
• Hotel room cleaning
• Sweep and mop floors
• Clean windows and keep blinds dust-free
• Take out and properly dispose of garbage
• Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
• Monitor and report any repairs or required replacements
• Snow removal
• exterior cleaning

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods
• WHMIS Certification is an asset
• Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to reach, kneel and bend
• Ability to lift, push, and pull required load (up to 50lbs)

• Ability to pass Canadian Background Check
