Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is hiring for a driver responsible for delivering and picking up a diverse fleet of construction equipment across Vancouver and area. You will load/unload, inspect, and secure loads, maintain records, and ensure safety and service quality in all interactions with customers.

Techs and dispatch will rely on your punctuality and accuracy. Comfort with outdoor work year-round, strong communication skills, and readiness for overtime are essential.

Formación

• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean or satisfactory abstract.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment is an asset.
• Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites.
• Load and unload equipment and secure it per safe work procedures.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and check fluids.
• Secure customer signature on contract if not signed.
• Inform supervisor of delivery difficulties and new sales opportunities.
• Double check delivered items for accuracy and notify dispatch if behind schedule.
• Turn in forms to Branch Manager with pickup sheets.
• Keep truck clean and professional at all times.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspections and timesheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized equipment yard and wash bay area.
• Wash, dry and detail equipment; report any damaged items.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites.
• Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.
• Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
• Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
• Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
• Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
• Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.
• If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature.
• Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.
• Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
• Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.
• Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
• Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets.
• Maintain a clean and organized equipment yard and wash bay area.
• Wash, dry, and detail equipment using pressure washers, vacuums, and cleaning agents.
• Check equipment for damage when returned to the yard, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment, or other types of heavy loads is an asset.
• Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience driving heavy trucks and/or pulling trailers is an asset (for example Class 5 roll-off trucks, flat decks, or heavy-duty pick-up trucks).
• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
• Available and willing to work overtime when needed.
• Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
• Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
