Job summary

Cascadia Metals Saskatoon is seeking a dedicated 5-ton truck driver to join our team. You will represent the company with a focus on customer service and timely deliveries, while adhering to Saskatchewan regulations.

Role requires a valid Saskatchewan Class 3A license, forklift certification, and a clean five-year driver’s abstract. Expect daily routes with potential overtime and a proactive, safety-conscious approach to responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
• Strong attention to detail with basic computer skills.
• Previous warehouse and shipping/receiving experience preferred.
• Valid forklift license and Saskatchewan Class 3A license with at least two years’ experience.
• Clean driver’s abstract (minimum five years).
• Steel-toe boots with 6" height required (no steel-toe shoes).
• Understanding of the National Safety Code for Motor Carriers.
• Good decision-making, problem-solving, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete standard driver’s daily logbooks per Saskatchewan regulations.
• Complete paperwork for monthly inspections.
• Daily trips with no overnight requirements; overtime may be required.
• Schedule services, obtain quotes and lead times as needed.
• Maintain truck consumables and cleaning supplies; notify Lead-Hand for replenishment.
• Report to Operations Manager and Branch Manager in a team environment.
• Understand bills of lading and shipping manifests.
• Keep truck clean using pressure washers and hand cleaners.
• Assist with loading/unloading; paperwork for materials.
• Maintain truck bay, equipment, and property.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Warehouse Lead Hand.

Primary Responsibilities

• Accurately complete standard driver's daily logbooks in compliance with Saskatchewan regulations.
• Complete necessary paperwork for monthly inspections.
• Perform daily trips without overnight requirements; flexibility with working hours, including potential overtime, is essential.
• Schedule services and repairs, obtain quotes and lead times as needed.
• Maintain truck consumable stock and cleaning supplies; notify the Lead-Hand when replenishment is required.
• Foster a team-oriented environment and report to the Operations Manager and Branch Manager.
• Understand and manage bills of lading and shipping manifests.
• Vehicle Cleanliness: Regularly clean the truck using pressure washers and hand cleaners.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Assist with loading and unloading trucks; complete paperwork for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Maintain the truck bay, equipment, and overall property upkeep.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Lead Hand.

Skills And Qualifications
