Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises invites experienced Class 3 Operators to Fort McKay. The role involves safe operation of several Class 3 units; candidates should be mechanically inclined and able to work in all weather. Preference for those with industrial sector experience.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 3 driver's license with clean abstract.
  • Minimum 3 years experience including up to 18 speed manual Class 1 or 3 equipment.
  • Previous or related experience operating Water, Vacuum, Hydro or ComboVac units.
  • Minedrive experience is an asset.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
  • Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate several types of units (Water, sewer, Vacuum, Steam truck, Tanker) in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in all weather.
  • Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to daily logbooks, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, pre/post trip inspections.
  • Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor.
  • Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of company image.
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain and operate all BME tools and equipment to the required standards and procedures.
  • Ensure that all training is kept current.
  • Follow all TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations.
  • Seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Provide customer-focused services in all activities.
