Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises LP is seeking experienced Class 3 Operators for Fort McKay operations in Alberta. You must have TDG knowledge, a minimum of 3 years with up to 18 speed manual transmission, and prior fluid hauling experience (water, sewer, vac, tanker). Mechanical aptitude and ability to work in all weather are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Class 3 driver’s license with clean abstract
• Minimum 3 years experience with up to 18 speed manual Class 1 or 3 equipment
• Experience operating Water, Vacuum, Hydro or ComboVac units
• Experience in industrial sector is an asset
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Certifications in TDG, WHMIS, CSTS/BSO/CSO and Alberta Hours of Service

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple Class 3 units (Water, Sewer, Vacuum, Steam truck, Tanker) safely and efficiently
• Complete daily documentation including logs, work orders, risk assessments, and pre/post trip inspections
• Follow dispatch or supervisor instructions and maintain vehicle and company image
• Attend safety meetings and adhere to TDG and WHMIS standards and procedures
• Provide customer-focused services and seek continuous improvement opportunities

Job Summary:

Operating from our Fort McKay main shop, this position involves the safe operation of several types of Class 3 units. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates that possess previous experience in the industrial sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operateseveral types of units (Water, sewer, Vacuum, Steam truck, Tanker) in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in all weather.
• Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to daily logbooks, customer work orders, field level risk assessment, pre/post trip inspections.
• Follow instructions for tasks assigned by Dispatch or Supervisor.
• Complete daily housekeeping of assigned truck to ensure maintenance of company image.
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
• Maintain and operate all BME tools and equipment to the required standards and procedures.
• Ensure that all training is kept current.
• Follow all TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations.
• Seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide customer-focused services in all activities.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid Class3 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
• Minimum 3years experience including up to 18 speed manual class 1 or 3 equipment.
• Previous or related experience operating Water, Vacuum, Hydro or ComboVac units.
• Minedriveexperience is an asset.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
• Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive considered an asset.
• Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, Drug and Alcohol and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
