Job summary

Birch Mountain Enterprises is seeking experienced Class 3 Operators for an Imperial Oil site (Kearl). The role requires TDG knowledge, a minimum of 3 years of manual transmission experience, and prior Combo Vac operation.

You will work on 14 on/14 off shifts, with camp accommodation and flights from Edmonton or Calgary, contributing to a safety‑driven, team‑oriented work environment. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, physically fit, and prepared to perform in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must have Class 3 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Minimum 3 years of experience, including up to 18 speed manual class 1 or 3 equipment.
• Previous or related experience operating Combo Vac units.
• Minedrive experience is an asset.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
• Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Daily Trip Inspections, Provincial Hours of Service for Alberta, Weights and Dimensions, Cargo Securement for flatbeds, WHMIS, and H2S Alive.
• Must pass BME driver’s evaluation, Drug and Alcohol and fit for duty pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate Combo Vac units.
• Must be physically able to perform tasks and work in all weather.
• Complete daily documentation (logbooks, work orders, risk assessments, pre/post-trip inspections).
• Follow dispatch or supervisor instructions.
• Maintain truck housekeeping and appearance.
• Attend toolbox and safety meetings and follow site safety rules.
• Maintain and operate all company tools and equipment to standards.
• Ensure training is kept current.
• Comply with TDG and WHMIS standards and regulations.
• Seek continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide customer-focused services in all activities.
