Job summary

Canada Cartage Balzac, AB is hiring a Class 1 Truck Driver to deliver across Calgary and surrounding areas, including Southern and Central Alberta, up to Edmonton. The role requires dependable, safety-focused drivers who can operate securely in a fast-paced environment while representing the company.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete e-logs and delivery papers, and maintain compliance with hours of service and load-security standards.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver's license (manual transmission will be an asset)
• Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable with smartphone technology
• Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors
• Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement
• Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across city and regional routes
• Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Calgary in a safe, timely, and professional manner
• Operate tractor-trailer, dry van, reefer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports
• Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures
• Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required
