Job summary

Manitoulin Group of Companies in Kamloops, BC is seeking independent owner-operators to join our team to support our carrier's transportation needs with linehaul services. Operators can work under the carrier's National Safety Code and Fleet Insurance Program.

This business opportunity requires flexibility, typically 5 days/nights including some weekends, and adherence to regulatory requirements and service standards. Trainers and coordination support are available.

Qualifications

• Class 1 license required.
• 1 year of experience in the field.
• Deck experience is an asset.
• Good understanding of hours of service regulations.
• TDG, WHMIS and forklift experience are an asset.
• Must provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 references.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an independent owner-operator to provide linehaul services from Kamloops, BC.
• Meet regulatory requirements including pre- and post-trip checks of equipment.
• May include delivery of periodic dock services to load/unload freight.
• Operate within the terms of the carrier's services contract.
• Ensure current ICBC insurance and comply with safety standards.

Job Description

We are looking to onboard independent owner-operators to join our team in support of the Carrier’s transportation needs to serve its customers. The owner-operator will be granted the option to operate under the Carrier’s National Safety Code and Fleet Insurance Program.

Business Opportunity

We wish to partner with an independent incorporated business to provide a current model truck and qualified operator to provide linehaul owner-operator services based out of Kamloops, B.C.

The Services require business flexibility but are generally required over 5 days/nights, including some weekends. Operational flexibility is a must.

The qualified operator is responsible to meet all regulatory requirements including Pre and post-trip of equipment and may include the delivery of periodic dock services to load and unload freight as required.

Operate within the standards and requirements as outlined in the services contract.

The Business must provide WCB Coverage to its Operators

Qualifications

Operator Qualifications

Class 1 license

1 year of experience

Deck experience is an asset

Good understanding of the hours of Service regulations

Forklift ticket an asset

TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset

Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 references confirming the delivery of service excellence

Equipment Requirements:

Mechanically Fit Bunk Truck that is ELD Compatible

Truck specifications that aligns with Carrier's Equipment

• Owna Red or White tandem bunk truck, 2018or newer.
• Deck experience is an asset
• TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset
• Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work-related supervisor references for both team members.
• Must have current ICBC insurance
