Job summary

Canada Cartage Group is seeking a dependable Owner Operator to join our transportation team for overnight runs across Surrey, Kelowna, Osoyoos, and regional lanes. This full-time role requires a valid Class 1 license, strong safety focus, and excellent customer service as you represent the company on the road.

You will operate tractor-trailer equipment, secure loads, and complete all paperwork and logs while maintaining compliance with hours-of-service rules.

Responsibilities

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift Schedule: Overnight Runs

Start Time: 7:00 PM

We are seeking dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented Owner Operator to join our growing transportation team. Responsibilities:

• Safely operate vehicles to transport freight across city routes and regional lanes
• Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within BC in a safe, timely, and professional manner
• Operate tractor-trailer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports
• Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures
• Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required

Core Requirements (All Driver Roles)

• Valid Class 1 driver's license
• Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada
• Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract
• Verifiable recent commercial driving experience (within the past 3 months to 1 year)
• Required Sleeper Truck: should not be older than 6 years
• Open to drive at night
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement
• Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions
• Ability to accurately complete eLogs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation
• Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach
