Job summary

Arrow Transportation Systems Inc. is hiring professional Class 1 Truck Drivers in Kamloops, BC. Company drivers are offered year-round work with 5 on/2 off schedules, modern equipment, and comprehensive benefits.

You can start work from most locations in BC, including Kamloops, Cariboo, and Okanagan. Orientation is provided, with ongoing support from Arrow for a secure, long-term career.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with air brake endorsement and clean abstract.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and log hours.
  • Maintain and complete required paperwork (bill of lading).
  • Operate truck cab computer and communications equipment.
  • Ensure loads are properly tarped and secured.

  • Compensation $32.65/hr (Trip rated)

We are looking for professional Class 1 Truck Drivers to join us and become part of our Arrow family. Our Kamloops Flat Deck division is currently hiring Company Drivers! You don't have to live in Kamloops and can start work from most locations in B.C. i.e. Cariboo, Okanagan for instance.



  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.

  • Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road-worthiness and regulatory compliance.

  • Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.

  • Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics.

  • Efficiently maneuver truck and trailer(s) into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.

  • May operate loading equipment as per role requirements.

  • Check mobile equipment (i.e. frontend loaders) to ensure that mechanical and safety equipment is in good working order.

  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the relevant supervisor.

  • Report all safety hazards or conditions encountered at load, unload, yard and shop sites.

  • Record, Maintain and Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading,) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.

  • Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers

  • Complete electronic and/or manual logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations

  • Communicate effectively and courteously with the public, customers, and co-workers

  • Assist in loading and unloading of trucks

  • Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure

  • Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements. Tarping loads may be a requirement

  • Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of truck is cleaned up

  • Provide feedback to supervisor/dispatch regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems

  • Ensure that all customers, co-workers and the public are dealt with professionally and with respect

  • Train others when required

  • Valid Class 1 driver's license with air brake endorsement and a clean driver's abstract

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and provide two job references

  • Ability to drive a standard (manual) transmission

  • Effective English communication skills, both verbal and written, for safe work execution, documentation, and coordination with dispatch and site personnel

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs overhead, 75 lbs to shoulder height, moving up to 100 lbs, and sitting for extended periods

  • Ability to take direction, work independently with minimal supervision, and cross-train across facility functions

  • Basic understanding of vehicle and trailer maintenance

  • Strong safety, quality, and organizational mindset, including task prioritization and meeting timelines

  • Professional, mature demeanor under stress; ethical, accountable, dependable, and integrity-driven

  • Positive, flexible team player with strong interpersonal skills and a solid work ethic
