Canada Cartage in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a dependable Class 1 Owner Operator Truck Driver to join our growing transportation team. This full‑time role covers city/local routes and regional lanes across Winnipeg, Northern Ontario, Northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

You will operate tractor‑trailer safely, complete deliveries and pickups, log paperwork, and maintain compliance with hours‑of‑service and safety policies while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 1 driving license and clean driving record
  • Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Strong understanding of road safety and load securement
  • Experience with night driving is an asset
  • Ability to complete eLogs and delivery documentation

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across city/local routes and regional lanes
  • Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Winnipeg, Northern ON, Northern Manitoba or Saskatchewan
  • Operate tractor-trailer in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Secure freight using appropriate equipment and ensure load-securment standards
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly
  • Maintain hours-of-service compliance and accurate delivery paperwork

Position Title: Class 1 Owner Operator Truck Driver

Location (Start Point): Winnipeg, MB

Delivery Area: Winnipeg, Northern ON, Northern Manitoba or Saskatchewan

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift Schedule: Sunday to Thursday

Start Time: Varies

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across city/local routes and regional lanes
  • Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Winnipeg, Northern ON, Northern Manitoba or Saskatchewan in a safe, timely, and professional manner
  • Operate tractor-trailer, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports
  • Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures
  • Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required
Core Requirements
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license
  • Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events)
  • Verifiable recent commercial driving experience (within the past 3 months to 1 year)
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement
  • Required Sleeper Truck: should not be older than 6 years
  • Open to drive at night
  • Open to use Manual/ Electric pallet jack, Loading/ Unloading and hand bombing
  • Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions
  • Ability to accurately complete eLogs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation
  • Ability to manually unload skids with a pallet jack and trays with a dolly required for some of the customers
  • Physically able to lift to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach

Class 1 Drivers

  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class 1 driving experience
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely perform hand-bombing, including manual loading and unloading of freight, as required
