Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with MS Project and cost-estimating tools such as HCSS HeavyBid.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary interface between client, engineering teams, Design-Builder, and external agencies.
• Lead interdisciplinary integration reviews of Design-Build deliverables for technical consistency.
• Provide Senior Technical Review focusing on constructability, risk, and design intent.
• Oversee environmental/regulatory compliance within technical design packages.
• Coordinate key technical workstreams to mitigate land reclamation and wharf interface risks.
• Monitor budgets and contracting strategies; assist in document prep and evaluation.
• Attend in-person meetings and site visits as required.

Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. Our Vancouver office is actively looking for a Civil Project Manager for the Owner's Engineer (OE) team on the largest container terminal development in British Columbia. Based in the Lower Mainland, this role provides technical leadership during a critical procurement and early works phase for a generational infrastructure project. As a core member of the Project Management Team, you will be part of the OE team overseeing the delivery of complex marine infrastructure, including large-scale dredging, land reclamation, concrete caissons and wharf construction. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, acting as a primary interface between the client and multi-disciplinary Task Force Leads to ensure project-wide alignment and proactive issue resolution.

As the successful hire, you will be a Senior Civil Engineer and Project Managerwith a minimum of 15 to 20 years of experience; have deep expertise in construction execution relating to large-scale rock work, dredging, and land reclamation; and have served in a construction management role and possess a strong background in cost estimating, scheduling, and risk assessment/mitigation.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Act as the primary interface between the client, engineering teams, Design-Builder, and external agencies

Qualifications:

• Minimum 15 to 20 years experience in marine civil infrastructure with specialized knowledge in large-scale rock work, dredging, and land reclamation and construction background
• Experience with Owner's Engineer (OE) workflows, specifically in managing the review and acceptance process of Design-Build submittals
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to adapt and delegate in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively relay information and document project activities utilizing the appropriate medium
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (including MS Project) and familiarity with bottom-up cost estimating tools such as HCSS HeavyBid or similar
• All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain .

Base salary range:

CAD $175,000 to $195,000 annually based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting the required qualifications in the job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Vancouver, Canada market.
