Job summary

A leading construction company in Vancouver seeks a skilled Project Manager for its Civil & Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will manage extensive civil and marine projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion. Responsibilities include planning and budgeting, leading project teams, and managing client relationships. The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of experience in similar roles and a degree in civil or construction engineering. A hybrid work model and generous benefits including RRSP matching and stock ownership are offered.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in civil, infrastructure, or marine construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and building codes.
  • Proven track record of leading project teams.
  • Ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Wamiliarity with building codes and applicable legislation.
  • Willingness to relocate/rotate to Vancouver Island.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale civil and infrastructure projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and estimate project budgets.
  • Lead and mentor the internal project team.
  • Build and develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients, contractors and subtrades.
  • Take charge of the bidding and contracts process, utilizing your expertise in cost control and payment management to maximize profitability.
  • Guide our stellar project team by ensuring seamless coordination of plans and specifications, while managing project finances.
  • Adapt to changing client needs with innovative solutions that showcase your creativity and resourcefulness.

As a Project Manager in the Civil & Infrastructure team at Pomerleau Construction, you will manage large-scale civil , infrastructure and marine projects - ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion - while working closely with our client groups and subcontractors and acting as an integral part of our projects team.

What you will do
  • Be at the forefront of all project procurement and execution.
  • Plan, schedule, estimate and forecast project budgets.
  • Lead, mentor and monitor your internal project team and their success.
  • Build and develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients, contractors and subtrades.
  • Take charge of the bidding and contracts process, utilizing your expertise in cost control and payment management to maximize profitability.
  • Guide our stellar project team by ensuring seamless coordination of plans and specifications, while managing project finances.
  • Adapt to changing client needs with innovative solutions that showcase your creativity and resourcefulness.
This role could be for you if you have
  • Roughly 5-10 years of experience working in a similar role supporting large-scale civil , infrastructure or marine construction projects.
  • An educational background in civil or construction engineering or another relevant program.
  • Strong knowledge of construction project methodologies, financial management, building codes and associated legislation.
  • A proven track record for project leadership and team collaboration.
  • A passion for building and nurturing exceptional stakeholder relationships
  • Availability for a rotation or relocation to Vancouver Island
