Join a leading company in the energy sector as a Project Engineer II, where you'll play a crucial role in managing projects and providing contractor support in Calgary, Alberta.
Role Overview
Perform engineering design evaluations and work to complete projects within budget and schedule. Review industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Review reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems. Provide technical support for the engineering process.
• Participate in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluation, and contractor selection.
• Identify & source long lead equipment, supporting Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contractors until equipment is assigned.
• Demonstrate experience with slurry wall design, construction, and quality control.
• Coordinate development of Capital Project Management System deliverables.
• Coordinate development of Functional Interaction Plan.
• Coordinate project issues resolution process.
• Ensure completion of the assigned work scope aligned with project objectives.
• Engage project team and resources to verify design & construction meet specifications & standards.
• Serve as interface between project team & contractor.
• Ensure smooth transitions between project stages.
• Lead Project Management Team (PMT) in applying project management systems.
Skills & Qualifications
• BS degree in engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, construction, and project management activities.
• Multi-discipline skill set.
• Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications & work processes.
• Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Proficient in MS Office suite.
