Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
Current (within the past 6 months) Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Check
Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
Demonstrate ability to respond to student needs and learning adaptations in flexible and respectful ways
Training and/or certification in First Aid, CPR
Support students individually or in small groups with learning activities
Helping students with special educational needs including learning disabilities, autism, behavioural challenges, or physical disabilities
Monitor and encourage positive student behavior using established classroom strategies
Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, field trips, and transitions
Observe and document student behaviour for the teacher
Ensure student safety by following school policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines
Encourage student independence, self-confidence, and problem solving skills
