Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Check within the past 6 months.
• Must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
• Demonstrate ability to respond to student needs and learning adaptations in flexible and respectful ways.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually or in small groups with learning activities.
• Help students with special educational needs including learning disabilities, autism, behavioural challenges, or physical disabilities.
• Monitor and encourage positive student behavior using established classroom strategies.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, field trips, and transitions.
• Observe and document student behaviour for the teacher.
• Ensure student safety by following school policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
• Encourage student independence, self-confidence, and problem-solving skills.

Position Summary:

The Educational Assistant provides crucial support for the school's operations and mission. The Educational Assistant helps maintain a positive and organized classroom environment.
