Job summary

The YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka is hiring a Child and Youth Program Instructor in Parry Sound, ON. You will deliver structured programs for children and youth, adapt activities for different ages, coach participants, and communicate with families and staff.

You will also help maintain records, ensure a safe, clean facility, and participate in required trainings (First Aid/CPR C, safeguarding, and more). Flexible hours and community impact are core benefits.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
• Standard First Aid/CPR Certification ‘C’.
• Healthy Child Development training or experience with children in a recreational setting is an asset.
• Clear Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• Must be able to work flexible hours based on program needs.
• Willingness to complete mandated trainings (AODA, Health & Safety, Bill 168, PCI, WHMIS, Child Safeguarding).

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Deliver structured programs for children and youth, with the ability to modify programs to meet the age-appropriate and developmental needs of all participants
• Coach and appropriately supervise children during scheduled programs
• Communicate with all participants and their caregivers, members, staff and volunteers
• Maintain records as needed, including attendance sheets, program area maintenance items and daily checklists
• Work as part of a team to ensure a clean and well maintained facility at all times

You bring:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
