Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority seeks a proactive Child Minder & Food Preparation Staff to support the Healthy Baby program at NorWest Co-op Community Health Centre. The role is a paid contract with 3 hours per week, Wednesdays 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM, at $16.40 per hour.

Responsibilities include child-minding, snack prep, kitchen cleaning, and assisting staff with program delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be energetic and comfortable with young children.
• Experience with basic cooking and baking preferred.
• Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required.
• Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset but not required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program staff and volunteers.
• Grade 12 or equivalent education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide child-minding support and engage with young children.
• Set up, maintain, and take down the child-minding area, including moving tables, stacking chairs, sanitizing mats, disinfecting toys and high-touch surfaces, and returning equipment to storage.
• Prepare snacks and assist with food set-up; clean and disinfect kitchen surfaces, wash dishes, handle the dishwasher.
• Sweep and mop floors, wipe down counters, fridge, microwave, and stove.
• Capture program stats and report any incidents to staff.
