Job summary

Shared Health-Soins Communs’ Baby Steps program at NorWest Co-op Community Health Centre seeks an energetic Child Minder & Food Preparation Staff to support our Healthy Baby initiative. You will help prepare snacks, clean and sanitize the kitchen, and maintain a bright, safe child-minding space while assisting staff and volunteers with program delivery.

Responsibilities include supervising children, setting up and tidying the child-minding area, preparing snacks, washing dishes, cleaning

Qualifications

• Must be energetic and comfortable with young children and kitchen tasks.
• Experience with basic cooking and baking preferred.
• Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check required.
• Food Handler’s Certificate is an asset but not required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with program staff and volunteers.
• Grade 12 or equivalent education preferred.

• Set up, maintain, and take down the child-minding area, including moving tables, stacking chairs, sanitizing mats, disinfecting toys and high-touch surfaces, and returning equipment to storage.
• Prepare snacks and assist with food set-up; clean and disinfect kitchen surfaces, wash dishes, handle the dishwasher.
• Sweep and mop floors, wipe down counters, fridge, microwave, and stove.
• Capture program stats and report any incidents to staff.
