Job summary

Tikinagan Child & Family Services seeks dedicated Child Care Workers to support children in their care in Northwestern Ontario. The position emphasizes adherence to the Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model and collaboration with families and communities.

Preference is given to applicants of First Nations ancestry. Travel is required; remote work is not available. Training will be provided as needed to support ongoing cultural knowledge and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Preference for First Nations ancestry.
• Interest in working with children/youth.
• Willing to attend training as required.
• Knowledge of Indigenous culture and lived experience.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills and time management.
• Ability to speak Oji-cree or Ojibway is an asset.
• Confidentiality must be maintained.
• Computer experience is an asset but not required.
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain one.
• Travel is a requirement.
• No remote work available.
• No relocation assistance available.

Starting Salary $69,040.

Child Care Workers oversee services to children who are in the care of Tikinagan. The work of Child Care Workers is guided by our Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model – everyone working together to raise our children.

Qualifications:
