Job summary

Tikinagan Child & Family Services is seeking a Family Service Worker in Northwestern Ontario to provide services and supports to families whose children are in custody or receiving services. The role follows the Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model to collaboratively raise our children.

The position requires travel, strong verbal and written communication, cultural knowledge of Indigenous communities, and willingness to train. No remote work or relocation assistance is available.

Qualifications

• Interest in working with children and youth and life experiences.
• Knowledge of and lived experience with the Indigenous culture.
• Good verbal and written skills.
• Ability to speak Oji-Cree or Ojibway is an asset.
• Travel is a requirement.
• No remote work available.
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain one.

Job description

Starting Salary $69,040.

The Family Service Worker oversees services and supports to families – families whose children have been taken into care and families whose children are in their care and are receiving services from Tikinagan. The work of the Family Service Worker is guided by our Mamow Obiki-ahwahsoowin Service Model – everyone working together to raise our children.
