Job summary

Touchwood Child and Family Services Inc. in Regina, SK, is seeking two casual Youth Care Workers to join our Short Term Community Based Home.

You will monitor children during the day and contribute to care plans, ensuring respectful patient-centred support. Applicants should hold a Youth Care Worker Diploma or equivalent, with 2+ years in an Early Childhood residential setting, a valid driver’s license, CPIC clearance, and the ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.

Qualifications

• Youth Care Worker Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years experience in an Early Childhood residential setting.
• Grade 12 and 3 years experience in an Early Childhood residential setting.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a drug & alcohol test.
• Must provide a current CPIC.

Responsibilities

• Monitor children on the Day shift.
• Record information for individual care plans and case work activities.
• Implement program policies and operating standards per TCFS practice.
• Maintain positive relationships with external partners in the lives of the children.
• Attend staff meetings, training and workshops.
• Other duties as requested by supervisor or designate.

Main Duties include:

• Monitor children on a regular basis throughout the Day shift.
• Primary responsibility for timely, accurate and complete recording of information required for individual care plans and case work activities for each child during their time in the facility.
• Implement program policies and operating standards that conform to the principles of best practice approved by TCFS Inc. maintain knowledge of the program and practice standards approved by the TCFS Board of Directors
• Maintain an effective and positive relationship between the program and external partners involved in the lives of the children in care.
• Adhere to all TCFS Inc. policy & procedure manuals
• Attendance at staff meetings, training and workshops
• Other duties as requested by immediate supervisor or designate

Education:

• Youth Care Worker Diploma
• Or a combination of education, training and 2 years experience
• Early Childhood certificate and/or combination of education, training and/or experience
• Grade 12 and 3 years experience in an Early Childhood residential setting
• Must have valid drivers license
• Must pass a drug & alcohol test
• Must provide a current CPIC
