Job summary

BrightPath Kids is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to prepare nutritious meals for children and to support classroom staff with meal service. The role involves food preparation, safety, and assisting teachers when not in the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Food Handling Certification preferred.
• Meet province requirement for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and Infant Child CPR.
• Effective time management skills.
• Experience cooking for large groups would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch and snacks for children.
• Organize food orders and coordinate with catered service.
• Ensure safety and sanitation in kitchen per Public Health rules.
• Understand dietary restrictions for individual children.
• Wash dishes after meals and assist teachers as needed.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
