BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care in Mississauga is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch and snacks for the children in our care. When not cooking, you will support classroom teachers and help manage food orders and safety in the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Food Handling Certification preferred.
• Meet province requirement for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and Infant Child CPR.
• Effective time management skills.
• Experience cooking for large groups would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• As a Kitchen Assistant, you will prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children in our care.
• When you are not preparing food, serving meals, or cleaning, you will work in the classrooms to assist our teachers.
• Organizing orders for food as needed.
• Serving meals from a catered service provided daily.
• Ensuring safety and sanitization in the kitchen environment as per Public Health requirements.
• Understanding dietary restrictions in centre for individual children.
• Washing dishes after meals.
• Other duties as assigned.
