Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Mississauga is seeking a Kitchen Assistant. You will prepare nutritious meals for children, serve meals, and help teachers in classrooms during off-peak times.

The role emphasizes safety, dietary awareness, and efficient kitchen operations. Flexible, full-time contract through end of April 2027 with no evenings or weekends to support work‑life balance.

Qualifications

• Food handling certification preferred.
• Meet province requirements for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and Infant CPR.
• Effective time management skills.
• Experience cooking for large groups is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children.
• When not cooking, assist teachers in classrooms.
• Organize orders for food as needed.
• Serve meals from a catered service provided daily.
• Ensure safety and sanitization in the kitchen per Public Health requirements.
• Understand dietary restrictions for individual children.
• Wash dishes after meals.
• Other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children in our care. When you are not preparing food, serving meals, or cleaning, you will work in the classrooms to assist our teachers. Responsibilities include:

• Organizing orders for food as needed.
• Serving meals from a catered service provided daily.
• Ensuring safety and sanitization in the kitchen environment as per Public Health requirements.
• Understanding dietary restrictions in centre for individual children.
• Washing dishes after meals.
• Other duties as assigned.
