Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Oakville, ON is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare nutritious meals for children and manage kitchen duties. You will organize shopping, follow a weekly menu, and ensure safety standards in a busy childcare setting.

The role emphasizes meal preparation within set recipes, attention to dietary restrictions, and maintaining a clean, compliant kitchen environment for a vibrant learning community.

Qualifications

• Food handling certification required.
• Meet province requirement for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and Infant Child CPR.
• Effective time management skills.
• Experience cooking for large groups would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
• Organize orders for bulk food weekly and daily shopping.
• Prepare meals from a set menu with weekly recipes.
• Ensure safety and sanitization per Public Health requirements.
• Understand dietary restrictions for individual children.
• Wash dishes after meals.
• Other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As a Cook, you will prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Organizing orders for bulk food weekly and daily shopping as needed.
• Preparing meals from a set menu with recipes provided weekly.
• Ensuring safety and sanitization in the kitchen environment as per Public Health requirements.
• Understanding dietary restrictions in centre for individual children.
• Washing dishes after meals.
• Other duties as assigned.
