Job summary

Interior Health Authority in Kelowna, BC is seeking a permanent full-time Chief Power Engineer 4 / Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Worker to oversee the power plant and related systems.

The role requires mandatory rotating on-call duty, supervision of engineers, and coordination of preventive maintenance and trained staff to keep critical facilities safe and reliable. A strong background in mechanical, plumbing, and equipment repairs is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of the facility’s power plant, boilers, HVAC systems, emergency power and related equipment.
  • Supervise Power Engineers and designated staff, coordinate work assignments, preventative maintenance and training.
  • Monitor materials, expenditures and contractors.
  • Perform skilled maintenance work across a variety of trades, including mechanical, plumbing and equipment repairs.
  • Ensure critical facility systems remain safe, reliable and operational.

Your Role

As a Chief Power Engineer 4 | Maintenance Supervisor | Maintenance Worker, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of the facility’s power plant, boilers, HVAC systems, emergency power and related equipment. You will supervise Power Engineers and designated staff, coordinate work assignments, preventative maintenance and training, and monitor materials, expenditures and contractors. You will also perform skilled maintenance work approaching the journeyman level across a variety of trades, including mechanical, plumbing and equipment repairs. Working within applicable codes, regulations and safety standards, you will ensure critical facility systems and equipment remain safe, reliable and operational.
