Chief Operations Officer, Mortgage Lending

A dynamic and entrepreneurial private mortgage lender providing alternative mortgage solutions in Ontario is seeking an experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to join their executive leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the company by contributing to its strategic direction, growth strategy, and operational efficiency.

As COO, you will work closely with the CEO, CFO, and Head of Business Development to influence the company's trajectory, drive expansion initiatives, and ensure optimal internal operations across underwriting, funding, servicing, credit, and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and maximizing efficiency and effectiveness across all functions.
  2. Strategic Planning & Execution: Craft and implement operational strategies to enhance loan origination, underwriting, and servicing processes, while driving process optimization and scaling efforts.
  3. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements within Ontario and the Canadian mortgage lending landscape, including FSRA regulations.
  4. Technology & Innovation: Champion the adoption of new technologies and digital solutions to enhance customer experience and streamline internal operations.
  5. Relationship Management: Build and strengthen relationships with brokers, investors, and lending partners to expand market reach and improve access to capital.
  6. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Develop KPIs and reporting systems to track performance, identify improvement areas, and support data-driven decisions.
  7. Team Development: Lead and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer service excellence.
  8. Financial Planning: Collaborate with the CFO on financial planning, budgeting, and capital management.

Qualifications:
