Proof of work
The team

We’re looking for a Product Operations leader to join Kraken and serve as the functional COO of Kraken Canada, owning the operational execution of our Canadian business. This role blends hands-on product delivery with strategic operational oversight. Additionally, the scope includes supporting Trade Operations and overseeing the operations of our MTL-licensed entities in the US.

You will be the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and external partners ensuring our regulated products go to market smoothly and scale reliably. This role is for a world-class operator, someone who’s built and scaled consumer-facing products, navigated regulated markets, led cross-functional teams, and partnered at the highest level to shape company strategy and execution.

The opportunity
  • Act as the functional COO for Kraken Canada, overseeing day-to-day operations, regulatory audits, client lifecycle management, and market performance.

  • Lead product operations for our global consumer trading products and Kraken Canada and our MTL-licensed U.S. states owning business readiness, and operational success.

  • Partner with Product to deliver features that meet compliance and operational requirements across jurisdictions.

  • Manage readiness and go-to-market of new products with a sharp eye on process scalability and internal controls.

  • Drive cross-functional execution on roadmap milestones, compliance deliverables, and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Work closely with our compliance teams to ensure audit-readiness and operational risk mitigation.

  • Partner with Finance and Data to own forecast inputs, monitor cost-performance metrics, and support P&L clarity across regulated business units.

  • Represent the operational side of Canada and U.S. in board, regulatory, and executive discussions.

  • Champion a high-leverage operating model: define core metrics, improve systems, and elevate how Kraken builds and scales regulated products.

Skills you should HODL
  • Significant experience in product operations, general management, or go-to-market roles, ideally in fintech, crypto, or regulated financial tech.

  • Demonstrated experience launching and scaling products in regulated environments.

  • Strong track record of cross-functional execution you’ve shipped with product teams and delivered under pressure.

  • Fluency in crypto-native operations, including treasury flows, custody structure, and digital wallet architecture.

  • Experience with financial operations: partnering with FP&A, understanding P&Ls, and tracking operational cost drivers.

  • Comfortable working with compliance and legal, able to interpret regulation and map it to business processes.

  • Able to navigate fast-changing environments while maintaining clarity, speed, and operational control.

  • Excellent communicator across technical, executive, and external stakeholder audiences.

Nice to haves
  • Experience operating under FINCEN, SEC, or CIRO frameworks.

  • Former founder, GM, or COO in a fintech or crypto startup.

  • Passion for retail investors and crypto adoption.
