Job summary

XPS Glencore Canada Corporation in Sudbury, Ontario is seeking a Chief Hydrometallurgist to lead consulting assignments spanning strategic studies, process development, plant optimization and client growth initiatives.

You will mentor technical professionals, guide project teams, and act as a trusted adviser to clients, delivering practical metallurgical solutions and shaping the hydrometallurgical practice.

Qualifications

• Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 10 years in hydrometallurgy or equivalent
• Experience in hydrometallurgy or precious metals extraction
• Experience in flowsheet development, process design, bench-scale testing and pilot programs
• Consulting/plant operations experience is a strong asset
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for Ontario is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for hydrometallurgical projects and consulting assignments
• Lead process development, flowsheet design and optimization initiatives
• Mentor junior engineers and manage multidisciplinary teams
• Drive client relationships and business development activities
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
