Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to join our team for large-scale mining and mineral processing projects in Canada. The role focuses on process development, design, and delivery, contributing to resource optimization and technical innovation.

Location options include Montreal, Laval, Brossard, Quebec City, or Lévis. The candidate will lead technical analyses, guide project metallurgists and technicians, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure successful project delivery while

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
15+ years in metallurgical processes.
Member of a recognized engineering association in good standing.
Experience in consulting engineering (asset).
Strong initiative, attention to detail, and a rigorous work approach.
Ability to work collaboratively and share expertise across teams.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Bilingualism required for English- and French-speaking client communication.

Responsibilities

Identify client needs and contribute to proposals.
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to define project needs and present technical information.
Establish design criteria, develop mass balances, P&IDs, and equipment sizing.
Develop laboratory test programs and analyze data.
Prepare capital and operating cost estimates.
Review tender packages and technical specifications.
