Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to shape electrical power systems for Canada's mining, metals and heavy industry sectors. Based in Sudbury, Ontario or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, you will lead as a senior expert from concept through completion, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of complex industrial facilities.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate across disciplines, and engage with clients to deliver robust designs using industry standards and advanced modelling tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18+ years of electrical engineering design experience in mining, metals, and heavy industry.
• P.Eng. certification/licensure is required.
• Solid knowledge of CSA, ANSI, IEEE and building codes.
• Proficiency with electrical power distribution, control systems, and protection schemes.
• Experience with hazardous environments and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shape electrical power systems design for new and brownfield projects.
• Oversee calculations and verify design accuracy via field reviews.
• Coordinate multi-discipline design activities and client communications.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project execution.
