Job summary

Wilbur-Ellis Co. in Canada is seeking a Chemical Plant Operator responsible for daily inventory, loading/unloading raw materials, and assisting in various operational departments. The role starts on day shift with a transition to the second shift after training.

You will work with equipment like skid loaders, forklifts, pumps, blenders, reactors, and weighing scales while maintaining a clean, safe work environment. This position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required and baseline education aligned with chemical processing.
• Experience in a chemical plant is preferred but not required.
• Comfort with computers and electrical equipment used in production.
• Safety-first mindset with strict adherence to protocols.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and problem-solving ability.
• Willingness to work in temperature extremes and varying environments.
• Ability to operate in a moderately loud production setting.
• Must pass pulmonary function tests and have respirator clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform frequent walking for inventory, leak checks and tank operations.
• Open/close tanks and transfer lines for raw materials handling.
• Operate equipment such as skid loaders, forklifts, pumps, blenders and reactors.
• Unload and transfer raw materials with proper safety procedures and PPE.
• Read meters and instruments; troubleshoot and report equipment issues.
• Prepare and label product samples for lab testing and shipping.
• Follow batch instructions and assist in other operational areas, maintaining a clean, safe environment.
