Job summary

Veolia Water Tech in Canada seeks a Chemical Operator to safely and efficiently run our chemical manufacturing processes. You will monitor equipment, perform quality checks, and ensure regulatory compliance with safety and environmental standards.

You will support EH&S programs, supervise inspections, manage packaging operations, and contribute to batch production and documentation. A high school diploma, basic English communication, and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with large volumes of chemicals is preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and ISO 9001 is beneficial.
  • Mechanical skills are an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support and follow Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Housekeeping duties throughout site.
  • Daily, weekly, monthly inspections - forklifts, lab, EHS.
  • Wash, inspect, and label reusable totes for daily and weekly use.
  • Label and prepare all types of one-way packaging.
  • Load bulk trucks with finished product as well as unload trucks of bulk raw material into storage tanks.
  • Blend high quality finished materials: read batch recipes and follow instructions so that batches are made to the required quality standard with all the correct materials.
  • Stage and prepare ingredients for blends as needed for production.
  • Deliver chemicals into blend tanks in predetermined quantities using automated systems as well some semi-automated/manual systems.
  • Complete lab testing to ensure products are formulated to meet quality standards.
  • Complete all batch documentation accurately and in a timely manner so as to ensure raw material inventory is properly accounted for.
  • Consult with technical and supervisory personnel to report or resolve conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Report, help troubleshoot and assist maintenance as required.
  • Handle other duties as assigned.
