MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Pelican Intl Inc is looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team. We need you to ensure the satisfaction of our many customers. Kayaking has never been as popular as it is today!

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Director, R&D, Engineering and Special Projects, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, executing and monitoring maintenance activities (building and equipment) at all our sites. With the help of your team, you will provide the required support to production in their daily operations and actively participate in the plant's continuous improvement projects.

Building maintenance

• Supervise and mentor the maintenance team.

• Manage maintenance contracts (cleaning, snow removal, landscaping).

• Plan, prioritize and coordinate maintenance and repair work (plumbing, electricity, ventilation, etc.).

• Ensure building compliance (safety, inspections, emergency measures).

• Manage subcontractors and coordinate their work.

• Develop and manage building maintenance budgets.

Equipment maintenance

• Supervise a technical team (millwrights, machinists, etc.).

• Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of production equipment.

• Collaborate with other departments to meet maintenance needs.

• Manage continuous improvement projects (Kaizen, 5P).

• Establish and manage equipment maintenance budgets.

• Plan interventions according to priorities and available resources.

Administrative management

• Ensure document management for current and future equipment.

• Develop and update maintenance policies and procedures.

• Oversee safety-related training for maintenance teams.

• Manage non-conformities and ensure corrective action.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MEETS THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

• Minimum 8 years' experience in maintenance management, including team supervision.

• Excellent knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanics, electronics and electrical

• Project management, planning and process optimization skills.

• Excellent understanding of health, safety and environmental standards.

• Ability to manage budgets and meet deadlines.

• Experience in a manufacturing and unionized environment;
