Job summary

Kibbi in Surrey, BC is seeking an experienced kitchen supervisor to lead culinary teams, supervise cooks and kitchen staff, and ensure high-quality meal preparation.

You will plan menus, estimate costs, manage inventories, train staff, and coordinate events, maintaining safety and food quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: secondary school graduation certificate.
• Experience supervising kitchen staff is required or highly preferred.
• English language proficiency is mandatory for work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items (cost control).
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
• Analyze operating costs and other data.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
• Supervise kitchen staff including specialist chefs and cooks.
• Create new recipes and plan menus.
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking and presentation of food.
• Prepare and cook meals for events such as banquets and for special guests.
• Plan and direct food preparation for several restaurants and ensure quality standards.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
• Lead and instruct individuals to achieve operational goals.
