Job summary

The University of Manitoba’s Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management Centre of Expertise (OECM) seeks a skilled professional to design and deliver training, lead change initiatives, and build practical resources for change adoption. You will design in-person, synchronous online, and e-learning modules, advise leaders, and support process improvement through consulting and strong client service.

Qualifications

  • Completed undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • At least three years experience in instructional design and training delivery.
  • Experience creating E-learns.
  • Demonstrated experience in change or project management including supporting the end user experience.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Outstanding facilitation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver training (in-person, synchronous online, and through E-Learning).
  • Provide strategic consulting and advisory services to internal clients.
  • Design and build resources contributing to the change management toolkit.
  • Support successful change adoption and process improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with sponsors, leaders and stakeholders.

The opportunity:

The Organizational Effectiveness and Change Management (OECM) Centre of Expertise is a unit of Human Resources at the University of Manitoba. OECM provides strategic consulting, training, tools, and advisory services that enable leaders to successfully implement organizational change. OECM team members serve as trusted advisors to internal project sponsors by providing practical guidance, proven frameworks, consulting expertise, and capacity-building resources throughout the change journey. The unit provides consulting and training in diverse areas of change management and process improvement.


This position focusses on building organizational capacity by equipping leaders and employees with practical skills for navigating change. This includes designing and delivering training (in-person, synchronous online, and through E-Learning) in areas of process mapping, process improvement, leading people through change, navigating change, and other topics relating to supporting successful change adoption. The role also designs and builds resources that contribute to our change management toolkit. The key skills applied in this role are training design, training delivery, consulting, advising, communication (verbal and written), and client service.


The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:


  • Completed undergraduate degree in a related field, such as adult education, human resources, management, or organizational behaviour required.

  • Certification in any of Change Management (eg. Prosci), Project Management eg. (Prince2), Training & Development (eg. CAE or PDAL), or Human Resources would be an asset.

  • At least three years experience in instructional design and training delivery, with a focus on adult learning principles.

  • Experience creating E-learns.

  • Demonstrated experience in change or project management including supporting the end user experience.

  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).

  • Outstanding facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
