Job summary

Qualicare Homecare Calgary is seeking a compassionate Health Care Aide (HCA) to provide one-on-one in-home care in the Airdrie area. You will work under a Care Coordinator, delivering personalized care to help clients stay safe, comfortable and independent at home.

Qualifications

  • Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurses and nursing students encouraged).
  • 2–5 years caregiving/health care experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Negative TB skin test or chest X-ray.
  • Reliable transportation in Airdrie area; access to mobile phone and internet.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following individualized care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized care under guidance of Care Coordinator to promote dignity, independence and quality of life.
  • Assist clients with personal care, bathing, grooming, and hygiene.
  • Prepare nutritious meals.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Accompany clients on outings and appointments.
  • Assist with shopping and errands.
  • Provide medication reminders and assistance as permitted.
  • Support safe mobility, ambulation and client transfers.
  • Follow individualized care plans.
  • Complete accurate documentation and charting after each visit.

What You'll Do
