Job summary

Qualicare Lethbridge is seeking compassionate Health Care Aides to join our home care team. You will perform personal care and assist with daily living activities under a care manager's supervision.

This AYEI-funded position emphasizes client safety, quality care, and accurate documentation. Eligible candidates must have an HCA certificate, be under 24, and meet Canadian residency requirements. A valid CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Qualifications

  • Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent required.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
  • Driver's license and own transportation required.
  • Access to Internet/mobile phone.
  • Criminal Record Check (within 1 year).
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • Be listed in the Alberta HCA Directory.

Responsibilities

  • Assistance with personal care and hygiene.

  • Light housekeeping.
  • Accompany clients on outings.

Job Summary

The Health Care Aide is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a care manager and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs. The Health Care Aide is responsible for observing clients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.

The Health Care Aide will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client’s care.

AYEI-Funded Position – Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Health Care Aide (HCA) certificate
  • Be 24 years of age or younger at the time of receiving an offer of employment
  • Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (PR) of Canada
Please note: Eligibility for this position is subject to the requirements of the AYEI funding program. Candidates who do not meet the above criteria may not be eligible for this particular position.
