Tolko-Industries-Lt in High Prairie, Alberta seeks a certified electrician to join our OSB division. The role emphasizes troubleshooting PLCs and HMI systems, preventive maintenance, and upgrades to keep electrical equipment and controls running safely and reliably.

Ideal candidates hold an Interprovincial electrician ticket, demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills, and have experience with CMMS (JD Edwards) or similar systems.

Qualifications

• Experienced electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket.
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Experience with CMMS (JD Edwards) or similar maintenance systems.
• Excellent communicator who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in a forest products environment is beneficial.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical issues using PLCs and HMI systems and implement safe fixes.
• Perform preventative maintenance, installations and upgrades on motors, hydraulics and controls.
• Strive to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Plan and carry out maintenance projects and programs with strong organizational skills.

We ' re looking for Certified Electrician to join our High Prairie OSB Division, located in High Prairie, Alberta. Our mill is undergoing an exciting major rebuild and modernization including the commissioning of a new continuous press which will make us the most modern mill in North America.

• An experienced electrician with a valid Interprovincial ticket.
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - preferably JD Edwards.
• A great communicator that can work independently while still contributing to the overall performance of the team.
• Previous experience in a forest products environment is beneficial.
• The ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is a bonus.

Your ideal workday will look something like this:

• You will apply your knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems to troubleshoot electrical issues and come up with safe, reliable fixes.
• You will use your broad electrical experience to do preventative maintenance as well as installations and upgrades, working on a variety of motors, hydraulic motion controls, optimizers and encoders... just to name a few.
• You will use your passion for continuously improving equipment reliability to come up with solutions that keep our industrial electrical equipment and controls repaired and maintained.
• You will apply your organizational and planning skills to carry out maintenance projects and programs.
