The position requires teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to operate classroom technologies. Salary starts at $26.24 per hour and is based on certification, with 5 hours per day, 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required with good academic standing.
• Education Assistant Certificate with relevant training.
• Experience with ASD, FASD or complex behavioural needs preferred.
• Proven ability to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Ability to work in a collaborative classroom team.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support under teacher direction and give feedback on daily work.
• Construct and locate instructional materials, displays, and learning centres.
• Operate classroom technology and adaptive equipment as needed.
• Monitor student progress and document academic/behaviour data.
• Maintain records and manage filing digitally or physically.
• Implement behaviour support and safety plans as directed.
• Assist with personal care and health needs of students as required.
• Attend team meetings and professional development sessions.
• Support intensive interventions and small-group work.
• Supervise students in various school settings and during activities.
• Foster independence and positive peer relationships.
• Participate in workshops and perform related duties as assigned.
