CGC Inc. is currently recruiting an Architectural Sales Representative for our Sales team in the Prairies, based in Calgary, Alberta.

This is a permanent, full-time position offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their sales and technical abilities.

Position Summary

Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your design eye, build relationships, and influence the selection of finishing materials? The Architectural Sales Representative applies design, product, and technical expertise to promote and secure specifications for CGC/USG’s full line of ceiling products. This role involves establishing strong relationships throughout the construction industry and collaborating effectively with the CGC’s Commercial Sales team, key customers, and industry influencers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Maximize sales volume, gross profit, and industry position for CGC/USG’s ceiling product portfolio, focusing on both short and long-term growth.
  2. Develop relationships with architects, designers, specifiers, owners, construction managers, and contractors to increase demand for USG products and systems, including networking within the industry.
  3. Track projects in the early design stages to influence specifications, maintaining and updating project information in Salesforce and sharing insights with the Sales team.
  4. Collaborate with the Architectural Sales team, Ceilings Plus design team, division management, and other departments. Support local sales and distribution partners, emphasizing teamwork in this entrepreneurial role.
  5. Promote target products and programs, monitor competitive activity, and strategically promote CGC/USG's offerings in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Travel within the Prairies region will be required. Educate staff and customers on proper product use, demonstrating expert knowledge of CGC products and best practices.
Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in Architectural Sales, Interior Design Sales, or a related field (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, or related discipline.
  • Design and technical aptitude.
  • Comfortable delivering CEU presentations to contractors, distributors, architects, and designers. CGC/USG-sponsored training will be provided if needed.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills; self-starter mentality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; Salesforce experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to identify decision-makers and build relationships; active participation in industry groups is expected.
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills; bilingual skills are an asset.
  • Strong presentation skills, customer service, and professional selling abilities.
  • Physical ability to carry 30 pounds and drive a company vehicle (valid driver’s license required).
