Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope (OBE) in Calgary, AB is seeking a Driver to provide exemplary customer service and ensure safe, damage-free delivery of shipments. You will load/unload glass, operate crane, and follow safety policies across routes.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with some weekend OT; cross-training and advancement opportunities are available. 75 lb lifting, airbrakes license, and clean driving record preferred.

Qualifications

• Class 1/3/5 with airbrakes required.
• 2+ years hands-on driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and handle physical tasks.
• Experience with ELD logbook, load securement, and pre/post trip checks.
• Comfortable driving with manual transmission.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service on-site and during delivery.
• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Transport product safely and damage-free.
• Load/unload glass at job sites and/or shop.
• Operate crane or assist with manual lifting.
• Report damaged shipments and ensure proper notation.

Schedule

Monday–Friday

Some Saturday work (OT paid after 8 hours or any weekend work)

Start/end times vary based on routes and production

Longer out‑of‑province routes may be required

Job Purpose

Provide exemplary customer service while adhering to corporate and federal transportation safety policies. Ensure safe, damage‑free delivery of shipments and use best practices when individual decision‑making is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition
• Carry accident kit and XRS system
• Transport product safely and damage‑free
• Load/unload glass at job sites and/or shop
• Operate crane or perform manual lifting
• Provide exemplary customer service on‑site
• Report damaged shipments and ensure proper BOL notation
• Forklift, Moffat forklift, and Hiab crane experience are assets (training available)

Qualifications

• Class 1, Class 3, or Class 5 SQ (Airbrakes)
• 5 demerits or fewer
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• ELD logbook, load securement, pre/post trip, and road test experience
• Preferably 2+ years hands‑on driving experience
• Comfortable driving standard transmission
• Proactive driving capabilities

Working Conditions

• Daily/weekly overtime (within legislation)
• Exposure to all weather
• Frequent lifting up to 75 lbs
• Long periods of driving
• Ability to stay composed in challenging traffic
