Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is seeking qualified drivers to provide exemplary customer service while ensuring safe delivery of glass shipments. The role offers competitive benefits and the potential for annual raises.

Ideal candidates will hold a Class 1 License, possess good driving records, and have customer service experience. Flexibility in work hours is required, with some overtime and exposure to varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 5 demerits or less on driver’s abstract.
• Maximum manual lifting requirement of up to 75 lbs.
• Must have ELD logbook and load securement experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Transport product to customer safely and damage-free.
• Report all concerns on damaged shipments immediately.

We’re looking for qualified and motivated drivers to join our team! Shift is Monday to Friday with some Saturday work (OT will be paid after 8 hrs or on any weekend work) and start and end times can vary depending on routes and production. Flexibility is required and longer routes out of province will also be required.

Job Purpose

Provide exemplary customer service to our clients and co-workers, adhering to all corporate and federal transportation safety policies while ensuring safe and damage free delivery of shipments. Encompass best practice when faced with situations that require individual decision

Duties and responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition
• Ensure contents are secure at the beginning of each shift and/or delivery via pre-trip inspection following all compliance requirements
• Must always carry accident kit and XRS system
• Transport product to customer safely and damage free
• Load and unload shipments of glass at both customer job - site and/or shop
• Loading and unloading glass will require crane operation and/or manual lifting
• Provide exemplary customer service to our clients on-site
• Report all concerns on damaged shipments to the transportation manager immediately and ensure the Bill of Lading (BOL) is properly notated and/or signed upon each delivery
• Experience with operation of forklift, Moffat forklift and Hiab crane are an asset, but training is available for the right candidate

Qualifications

• Class 1 License
• 5 demerits or less on driver’s abstract
• Maximum manual lifting requirement of up to 75 lbs
• ELD logbook, load securement, pre & post trip, and road test experience
• Would prefer one or more years of hands on driving experience
• Must be comfortable driving a standard transmission
• Positive attitude with customer service orientation
• Proactive driving capabilities

Working conditions & Physical requirements

• Daily and/or weekly overtime required, not to exceed statutory legislation
• Exposure to all elements of weather
• Must be able to consistently lift up to 75 lbs at plant location and/or jobsite, shop
• Be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time while driving
• Be able to maintain composure while exposed to challenging traffic conditions and/or situations
