Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Category Specialist in Mississauga, ON, on a 6-month contract, hybrid WFH Fridays, and in-office Monday-Thursday. The role focuses on category and product management, market research, and marketing execution to drive growth across an industrial product portfolio.

Ideal candidates have 3–10+ years in category/product marketing, strong analytics, and experience with SAP/BW, CRM, and marketing automation.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 10+ years of experience in: Category Management, Product Marketing, B2B Marketing, Product Management, Brand Management, Marketing Analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field
  • Experience within one or more industries such as Industrial products, Manufacturing, Chemical products, Specialty products, Industrial distribution
  • Experience supporting product lifecycle management and portfolio optimization
  • Experience executing marketing campaigns and lead generation initiatives
  • Experience working with agencies, vendors, and cross-functional business teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with CRM platforms and marketing automation systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • SAP experience considered a strong asset
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Business Warehouse (BW) is an asset
  • Strong project management capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Support category management activities and product portfolio optimization initiatives
  • Assist with product lifecycle management, SKU rationalization, and product line reviews
  • Coordinate product development discussions and commercialization projects
  • Support product launch activities and speed-to-market initiatives
  • Manage product line updates, changes, and SKU deletion processes
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and growth opportunities
  • Analyze market data, customer insights, and competitive intelligence
  • Monitor category performance and prepare reports on product effectiveness and business results
  • Support forecasting, annual planning, volume projections, and margin analysis
  • Assist with campaign planning, lead generation, demand generation, and customer engagement initiatives
  • Support customer segmentation and market mapping activities
  • Develop and coordinate marketing materials, sales tools, presentations, webinars, packaging, and product content
  • Translate technical product information into customer-focused marketing messages
  • Work with agencies and external vendors to execute marketing programs and creative projects
  • Track and manage strategic marketing initiatives from planning through execution
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, operations, research and development, and leadership teams
  • Participate in budget tracking and marketing expense management
  • Support internal audits, external audits, governance activities, and process improvements
  • Ensure packaging and labeling initiatives align with regulatory requirements

Are you a data-driven marketing professional with experience in category management, product marketing, product lifecycle management, or B2B marketing? Adecco is currently recruiting a Category Specialist for a 6-month contract opportunity with a leading industrial organization located in South Mississauga. This opportunity is ideal for a marketing professional who enjoys combining strategic thinking, market research, analytics, project management, and product portfolio management to help drive business growth. Working closely with Category Managers and business leaders, you will support product strategy, commercialization initiatives, customer engagement programs, and category performance across a diverse portfolio of industrial products.

This role offers valuable exposure to product development, market intelligence, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic marketing initiatives within a well-established organization.

  • Pay Rate: $70000 - $90000/year

  • Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)

  • Work: Monday to Thursday In Office | Friday Work From Home
