Job Responsibilities
- Support GCS Value Proposition daily and with every interaction by providing excellent customer and stakeholder communication on claim matters.
- Provide superior customer service to clients and stakeholders.
- Investigate, evaluate, and settle complex PD liability files, including some BI, Commercial General Liability Casualty, and possibly E&O, D&O, and US claims with claimants or their representatives.
- Handle a varied pending, including files in both pre-litigation and litigation, as well as out-of-province claims.
- Communicate directly with key clients and brokers regarding all claim-related issues and other assistance as required.
- Interpret and confirm insurance coverage using relevant case law and a thorough understanding of policy wordings.
- Ensure timely and accurate setting of file reserves, in line with company protocols.
- Maintain control over expenses through proactive handling techniques.
- Review and analyze third-party adjuster reports to ensure proper claim disposition, manage costs, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Provide instructions to vendors and TPAs to adjust claims.
- Ensure vendors and TPAs adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Document and summarize file activity clearly.
- Understand and adhere to Aviva’s claim procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments within Aviva.
- Maintain an expert understanding of the claims experience while aligning with the technical strategic direction.
- Seek new and incremental improvements daily for the customer.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of previous claims experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Claims, with strong knowledge of complex Casualty PD liability claims.
- Exposure to US claims, E&O, D&O claims is an asset.
- Technical competence in Commercial insurance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ClaimCenter.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
