Intact in Calgary/Edmonton, AB, is seeking a Casualty Claims Adjuster II to handle automobile bodily injury claims during a regulatory transition to Care First. You will investigate claims, review records, and negotiate settlements while maintaining high-quality documentation and customer empathy.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience handling casualty claims, preferably automobile bodily injury.
• CIP designation preferred, or commitment to pursue one.
• Post-secondary education in a health-related discipline, insurance, or related field is an asset.
• Experience with medical terminology or in healthcare, rehabilitation, disability, or medical setting is an asset.
• Customer-focused with empathy and professionalism under stress.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Investigate automobile bodily injury claims to support prompt, fair resolution.
• Review medical records, police reports, expert reports, and other documentation.
• Represent the company in negotiations and settlements with third parties, claimants, and/or legal counsel.
• Manage claims through the litigation process, where required.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely claim file documentation.
• Set, review, and manage loss and expense reserves; ensure reserve integrity.
• Evaluate settlement criteria and authorize payments per policy and guidelines.
• Communicate professionally with customers, brokers, service providers, lawyers, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Claims, Underwriting, and Legal.
• Manage a high-volume workload while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Support transition to the Care First Team with a health- and recovery-focused approach.
• Assess eligibility and entitlement using policy provisions and available evidence.
